SY Enso
Partial reconditioning of the mast
The 25.15m Enso sailing yacht was built by Oyster Yachts in the UK. The sophisticated exterior design and engineering of this luxury vessel are the work of Rob Humphreys. Inside it can comfortably accommodate up to 11 guests and 4 crew members. Its cruising speed is 8 knots, but it can reach a maximum sailing speed of up to 12 knots.
At The Rigging Point we did a partial mast overhaul after 5 years of sailing or 50,000 miles.
The partial refit services include:
- Un-stepping the rig and removing all rigging components.
- Cleaning and inspecting all fittings, rigging and rod heads.
- Non-destructive testing—(NDT) with dye penetrant, where determined necessary.
- Re-heading and re-seating all Diagonals, Forward and Aft Rods, if deemed necessary.
- Refurbishing and polishing of all fittings in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.
- Reviewing history of non-metallic rigging, bench testing or replacement according to manufacturer’s recommendations. Generally, Kevlar Stays are replaced at this time.
- Full lubrication and dressing.
- Re-stepping.
- Dock tuning and sea trial.
- Forward inspection notes to BSI for an update on the BSI Service Log.
